The Semantic Interoperability Community (SEMIC) organises several workshops and webinars on various topics impacted by interoperability challenges in 2024. Are you curious about the planning for the coming month? You can check out the upcoming events on the SEMIC Support Centre.
Over the course of the month March, SEMIC will organise two webinars on related, yet distinct topics: GeoDCAT-AP and MLDCAT-AP.
The first webinar, taking place on the 12th of March between 10:00 and 12:00 CET, tackles the interesting topic of geospatial datasets, dataset series and services bundled within GeoDCAT-AP. It is the second working group handling this subject, as part of the larger context of webinars in order to align the specification with DCAT-AP 3.0 and its annex, DCAT-AP for HVD. Additionally, its relationship and intersection with other semantic standards will be discussed to achieve interoperability.
In concrete terms, the datasets, distributions and their relationships will be discussed together with the categories (alignment with DCAT-AP 3.0) explained in keywords, categories and themes. More information about the webinar can be found here. If you are willing to contribute and provide feedback on the current open issues, please have a look at the GitHub page. Additionally, the slides and recording of the first working group webinar can be found via this link.
Secondly, an introductory webinar on MLDCAT-AP (Machine Learning DCAT-AP) will be organised on the 21st of March between 10:00 and 11:30 CET. MLDCAT-AP is a prototype semantic standard related to machine learning models created in collaboration with OpenML. At this occasion, participants will have the opportunity to become familiar with the prototype version of the model. All participants are invited as well to express their interest, provide ideas and feedback on the development of this innovative semantic specification. More information about the webinar can be found here. If you are already interested to know more, have a look at the GitHub page here.
As you might have seen last month, SEMIC is publishing the interviews that were conducted during the SEMIC2023 Conference. These inspiring videos can be rewatched on the Interoperable Europe X account and LinkedIn page for short bite sized versions, or watch the full length interviews on SEMIC TV.
